In Kerala, it would be rude not to experience the serene beauty of the backwaters. We booked our places on a small house boat and spent a very relaxing day, meandering through the green-fringed maze of waterways.
There were many stops on the way where backwater industries were demonstrated for the benefit of the tourists.
We stopped for a lazy lunch, served on the traditional banana leaf. It was extremely tasty.
Then we continued our journey, watching the backwater life unfold around us in the hazy afternoon.
